Rare, Legendary "Boy on Dolphin" Coin
This two thousand year old coin minted in Calabria in southern Italy features the marvelous "Boy on a Dolphin", ("Horseman" on reverse). According to Greek Mythology the boy was Taras, son of the Sea God Poseiden, who is seen astride a dolphin sent by his father to rescue him from a ship wreck.
Each coin is mounted in a solid 18K gold bezel, done in the "Greecian" style complete with four large genuine rubies. A "Certificate of Authenticity" is included.
